The WCJC library offers faculty and staff members access to several professional development programs, including those from these organizations:

  • The National Institute for Staff & Organizational Development (NISOD). NISOD provides professional development programs and resources for community college faculty, staff, and administrators. All WCJC faculty and staff have unlimited access to NISOD live events and recording sessions. To access NISOD events and webinars, create an account using your WCJC email. Select "Wharton County Junior College" for the Institutional Affiliation option. Please note that some live events require a fee. For WCJC to cover this fee, you will need to submit a Request for Professional Leave (required even for virtual events) and then submit for reimbursement. For questions, please call 979-532-6953 or email.
  • PBS TeacherLine. This site provides a number of professional development programs for online educators.
  • The library has a selection of Professional Development books. This collection is on the second floor of the Wharton campus library. Faculty can request any physical material be delivered to their campus.
