Adventure Sports and Outdoors Club The purpose of this club is to instill the love for the outdoors and the knowledge
to explore them safely in all members. From learning how to hike, to setting up a
camp and building a fire, members will be afforded the opportunity to learn about
any outdoors activities that interest them. New outdoor enthusiasts to grizzled veterans,
to faculty and staff, are all welcomed and encouraged to participate. Philosophically
we, as an organization, hope to show why conservation and public land stewardship
is a must. Advisor: Peter Anderson
Gamer's Lounge
The purpose of the Gaming Club is to promote fellowship and meaningful social interaction
among students through a shared interest in all aspects of gaming: Video, Card and
Board games. The club seeks to create a welcoming and supportive environment where
members can engage in recreational gaming as a means of relaxation, stress relief
and personal enjoyment. By offering a space that encourages community, collaboration
and mutual respect, the Gamer's Lounge aims to enhance the overall student experience
and contribute positively to campus life. All WCJC students are welcome to join in
on the fun.
Table Top History Group History comes alive in the Table Top History Group where students use board wargames
to re-create conflicts from the past. Did you ever wonder what it was like to fight
for the throne in the Roman Empire? How might the Russians have won the Cold War?
What was the impact of Anglo-Scottish Border wars in the 15th Century? Could Nazi Germany have conquered Europe during WWII? These are just some
of the conflicts we explore. The Table Top History Group meets every Wednesday afternoon
at 1430 hrs (that's 2:30 PM) in the downstairs clubroom of the Pioneer Center on the
Wharton Campus. Come see if you have what it takes to alter the course of history.
