Meet the Faculty

Our dedicated faculty members are passionate and committed to your success. With years of experience in their respective fields, they're ready to share their knowledge, expertise, and support.

Ms. Krutilek received her B.S. in Sports Science from Upper Iowa University in 1996. She obtained her Master's in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University in 2001. Ms. Krutilek joined WCJC in the spring of 2017. She currently teaches Introduction to Physical Fitness and Wellness, Foundations of Kinesiology, Drug Use/Abuse, First Aid, and Health at the Wharton and Sugar Land campuses.

Mr. Cabrales joined Wharton County Junior College in Fall 2023.  He is the WCJC's Women's Volleyball Head Coach and instructor of Kinesiology.  Mr. Cabrales received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston and is in the process of obtaining his Master's Degree in Coaching and Exercise Science.  Previously, he had been a teacher and coach at The Kinkaid School and surrounding Houston area private schools.  He comes with 15+ years of experience in coaching and teaching.  He mentors student athletes and builds confidence and leads them to make decisions that will directly and positively influence their future.

Mr. Porras obtained his A.A. from Wharton County Junior College, B.S. from the University of New Mexico, and M.S. from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. He started at WCJC in 2018 as a part-time assistant Baseball Coach and has been Head Baseball coach since 2021. Mr. Porras teaches  Introduction to Physical Fitness & Wellness, Weightlifting, Drug Use,and Abuse as well as Foundations of Kinesiology.

Mr. Watkins joined Wharton County Junior College in Fall 2024 as a Kinesiology instructor and assistant baseball coach. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Victoria and his Master's degree in Athletic Administration from Concordia University. Before coming to WCJC, he taught and coached at Westbury Christian School and various public schools in the Houston area. With 20 years of experience in coaching and education, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the college.
