WHARTON, TEXAS – Wharton County Junior College is partnering with a global company to help women graduates achieve career advancement and economic independence.
WCJC vocational graduates participated in the inaugural program this spring, receiving professional attire and development tools from Dress for Success, a non-profit founded in 1997. The organization operates sites in 150 cities worldwide, including Houston, and provides services to clients at no cost.
WCJC’s Vocational Support Coordinator Rose Ochoa learned of Dress for Success at the annual “Women In Industry” conference in Galveston.
“By providing a network of support, Dress for Success ensures women can gain access to resources that will allow them to thrive in work and in life,” Ochoa said.
To become a client, WCJC female students must be 18 or older and actively seeking employment or have a scheduled job interview. Those who qualify will be referred to Dress for Success’s Houston office. For information, contact Ochoa at ochoar@wcjc.edu.
