WHARTON, TEXAS – Wharton County Junior College earlier this spring hosted University Interscholastic League events for 22 area high schools.
Held on March 25 at the Wharton campus, the event allowed students to compete in a variety of UIL-sponsored events. WCJC faculty and staff served as judges, time keepers, graders, greeters and in various other capacities to help the event.
WCJC’s Dean of Student Success Lindsey McPherson said the event was a success and she credited Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Student Success Traci Myers, Division Chair of Communications and Fine Arts Patrick Ralls, recruiter Armando McClure and numerous other college faculty and staff volunteers with making it all happen.
“So much work goes into organizing an event like this, and they made it look easy,” McPherson said.
