TOWN HALL MEETINGS TO ADDRESS UH SUGAR LAND PARKING FEE

April 25, 2019

WHARTON, TEXAS – Town hall meetings have been scheduled to garner input regarding a parking fee at the University of Houston Sugar Land campus.

Recently, the University of Houston made an administrative decision to charge a parking fee for all students and employees who park in the Sugar Land campus parking lots designated for the University of Houston Sugar Land and Wharton County Junior College Sugar Land.  UH is scheduled to implement the parking fee in the fall of 2019.

WCJC's administration is very concerned about the impact the fee will have on the college’s students, employees and the institution. Concerns have been expressed to UH officials and two town hall meetings have been scheduled to allow students and employees the opportunity to address their concerns about the fee.  Both UH and WCJC administrators will be in attendance to hear concerns and address questions.

Meetings will be held at the WCJC Sugar Land Campus Brazos Hall, Room 180, at:

  • 3 p.m. Thursday, May 2
  • 2 p.m. Friday, May 3

WCJC administration is continuing to investigate all possible options for assisting the college’s students and employees regarding this matter and will release more information as it becomes available.
