WHARTON, TEXAS – Wharton County Junior College is helping more students to attend college for the spring 2018 semester by extending tuition payment deadlines for all students and also by making funds available to students impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
The spring semester payment deadline has been extended until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, for 17- week, 16-week, 14-week, and the first 8-week class terms.
Students impacted by Hurricane Harvey may be eligible to receive financial assistance to attend classes this spring, once they submit a completed application form titled Application for Student Financial Assistance Due to Hurricane Harvey. The form and required documentation should be faxed to 979.532.6526 or emailed to deannaf@wcjc.edu.
Students interested in applying for funding should register for classes and submit a completed application with documentation as soon as possible. Students who are approved for funding will be notified quickly.
The Wharton County Junior College Foundation and the Communities Foundation of Texas donated funds for WCJC to financially assist students directly affected by the storm and the subsequent flooding that impacted a large portion of the college’s service area. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and books for qualified students.
As noted above, an application process is required and assistance will be provided on a case-by-case basis. Full-time and part-time students are eligible to apply. For more information, call 979.532.6304.
