The fitness center is open to all WCJC athletes, students, current and retired employees, and the community. The Fitness Center is located inside the Gene Bahnsen Gymnasium on the Wharton Campus. Become a Member

Membership is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Dual enrollment students under the age of 18 may also join the Fitness Center. You must be enrolled in at least 9 credit hours to be considered a student. If you’re taking PHED 1164, you can use the weight room for free during the semester that you are enrolled in the class. Guests can try the fitness center for a fee of $5 per day. 

To become a member of the Fitness Center at WCJC, you’ll need to pay the semester fee and fill out a few forms. 

  • To pay by credit card, visit the Cashier’s Window in the Administration Office. Then bring the receipt to the Fitness Center front desk.
  • To pay by cash or check, visit the front desk at the Fitness Center. 

Once you’ve paid the fee, a staff member will help you complete the forms.

FAQ

Find answers to your questions about the Fitness Center at WCJC.

 

Sign in at the front desk once you arrive. Only use the towels provided by the Fitness Center. Wipe down your equipment once you’re finished. All other rules are posted around the weight room.

Progress charts are available to all members but they are not required. Use the charts to record personal information such as heart rate, workouts, weight, and other equipment use to help keep track of your progress.

 

The Fitness Center offers cardiovascular and resistance training equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, walking track, weight training machines, cable systems, and free weights.

Paid community members, students, employees, retired employees may use the weight room and locker room facilities. If you’d like to use a locker, bring your own lock and register the locker number with a staff member. The showers are open to all members but you’ll need to bring your own toiletries and towels.

 

The Fitness Center follows the WCJC Academic Calendar.  The days the College is closed (including holidays), the Fitness Center will also be closed. Please adhere to the posted time. Check with the front desk if you’re unsure.
