WHARTON, TEXAS – With temperatures in the 80s, it’s a little challenging to imagine a winter wonderland or ringing sleigh bells. But that’s not stopping the Wharton County Junior College Choir from spreading some holiday cheer.

During the upcoming “Sounds of the Season” concert, the choir will perform a host of holiday classics, traditional carols and popular seasonal hits. Scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in the Horton Foote Theatre on the Wharton campus, the show is open to the public and free of admission.

“This performance is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit,” said WCJC Choir Director Dr. Karl Paoletti.

The WCJC Choir will team up with the Wharton Community Choir for the concert. The audience, too, will have a chance to get in on the action during a sing-along.

“I try to select a wide variety of music that will challenge the students and help improve their musical and vocal skills,” Paoletti said. “Singing in front of a live audience is always a great way for students to learn self-confidence and to bring emotion and life to a performance.”
