WHARTON, TEXAS — Past and present will come together for some good clean fun this weekend during the Wharton County Junior College Pioneers Alumni Baseball Game.
Beginning at noon Saturday at Corbett Park in Wharton, the game showcases the talents of former WCJC baseball players with those on the current roster. Two teams — comprised of a mix of alumni and current players — will face off for 12 to 14 innings of play. The public is invited to watch and admission is free.
“This is about having fun and seeing buddies you haven’t seen in a while,” said WCJC Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach Trey Porras.
So far 18 alumni have signed up, with ages varying from early 20s to mid-50s. Participants must be former WCJC Pioneers baseball players.
