The Wharton County Junior College Choir will present "Come Travel With Us" on Tuesday, March 26, at the Horton Foote Theatre on the Wharton campus. Pictured is WCJC Choir Director Dr. Karl Paoletti guiding the choir through a rehearsal. Members include Valeria Rojas of El Campo, Emma Waldrop of West Columbia, Elaina Light of Sugar Land, Dallas Kirkpatrick of West Columbia, Rogelio Hernandez of Richmond, Nick Paoletti of Sugar Land and Riley Henderson of Wharton.
“The songs feature catchy melodies and texts with hopeful themes that will really resonate with the audience,” said WCJC Choir Director Dr. Karl Paoletti. “I think the public will really enjoy these popular and inspiring songs about life’s journeys.”
The concert will feature a variety of songs, including popular jazz tunes like “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story” from the Broadway musical Hamilton and “How Far I’ll Go” from the Disney smash Moana. The common theme is life’s journeys.
“I was inspired to pick songs about traveling and the journeys of life because of our upcoming road trip,” Paoletti said.
The WCJC Choir will perform in Branson, Mo., in May.
