WHARTON, TEXAS – The Wharton County Junior College Choir will perform some of the best-known Broadway hits during their upcoming concert, “Night on Broadway.” Scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at the Horton Foote Theatre in the Duson-Hansen Fine Arts Building on the Wharton campus, the show is free of admission and open to the public.
The choir will share the stage with the Wharton Community Choir to offer a more diverse vocal range.
“We are excited to be collaborating with the Wharton Community Choir on this concert,” said WCJC Choir Director Dr. Karl Paoletti. “They sound amazing.”
Featured songs will come from such Broadway heavy hitters as “Phantom of the Opera,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “West Side Story” and “Hamilton.” Paoletti said choir students have worked hard to perfect the songs for the concert.
“They’ve come to every rehearsal with an upbeat attitude,” Paoletti said. “I couldn’t ask for a better group of students.”
