ALL FIRST-TIME IN COLLEGE WCJC STUDENTS TAKING SIX HOURS OR MORE WILL RECEIVE A $500 TO $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP FOR FALL 2021

WHARTON, TEXAS – Wharton County Junior College is offering a Fall 2021 First-Time in College Scholarship to all first time in college students who have enrolled for the Fall 2021 semester and are taking six or more credit hours.

All incoming first-time in college students who complete admission requirements will receive a scholarship, which will be applied to their Fall 2021 tuition and fees balance. The award will be added to the student's financial aid award package within three to five business days after the student completes all admission requirements. Award notification will be sent to the student's email. The scholarship will award at the $500 level for students enrolled in six to 11 credit hours or at the $1,000 level for enrollment in 12 or more credit hours. “This is the first time WCJC has offered this type of scholarship opportunity,” said WCJC’s Director of Financial Aid Leslie Kolojaco. “These scholarships are intended to reduce financial barriers for students who are beginning college amid the economic uncertainty created by the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. We hope these funds will start our first time in college students on a path to academic success.”
