April 30, 2021

WHARTON, TEXAS – The South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company recently thanked Wharton County Junior College for assistance in distributing COVID-19 vaccines.

In a letter to WCJC President Betty McCrohan, STP Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice President Aldo Capristo thanked WCJC nursing students for volunteering at a COVID-19 vaccine event in March. The letter noted that 479 STP employees, contractors, retirees and family members received the vaccine.

Capristo thanked nursing students for their “professionalism.”

“This collaborative effort … helps STPNOC fulfill our mission of providing clean power to Texas and keeping our employees safe from this virus,” Capristo said. “We are so very fortunate to have such an outstanding college program in our community and are thankful that your students give their time and expertise to assist. I have been involved in many important projects and initiatives in my career, but by far this has been amongst the most rewarding to help people keep themselves and their families safe and able to hopefully return to a post-pandemic lifestyle soon.”
