WHARTON, TEXAS – Wharton County Junior College will host its annual “Safe Spring Break” event on Tuesday, March 3, in Wharton.
Scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pioneer Student Center ballroom on the Wharton campus, the event is a collaborative effort between the college and area law enforcement and transportation departments to stress the dangers of driving under the influence and texting while operating a motor vehicle. Admission is free and all WCJC students are welcome to attend.
Activities will include first aid demonstrations, simulations of the effects of intoxication (via “beer” goggles), and simulations of the dangers of distracted driving. Free snacks will be provided while supplies last.
WCJC’s Spring Break will be from March 9 through March 13.
