Members of Wharton County Junior College’s Student Government Association participated in a car seat inspection event on September 26 at the Wharton campus. A collaboration between the Texas Department of Transportation, the Wharton Police Department and WCJC, the event enabled motorists to have their car seats inspected by certified experts to ensure proper placement and compliance with state law. During the three hour event, 33 car seat inspections were conducted, with a large portion of seats being replaced with new models free of charge.
