HEALTHCARE SIMULATION LAB OPEN HOUSE

Wharton County Junior College Board of Trustees Chairman Danny Gertson, center, practices taking blood from a training device that resembles a human arm while WCJC President Betty McCrohan, left, and WCJC EMS Instructor Karl Johnson, right, observe during a healthcare simulation event on Sept. 17. The event was part of on open house held at the Johnson Health Occupations Center on the Wharton campus. Allied Health and EMS program faculty and students demonstrated a host of exercises and training scenarios made possible through the development of the facility's healthcare simulation lab. The lab opened in August of 2018, featuring state-of-the-art training mannequins. The equipment was funded by generous contributions from the Johnson Foundation and the Gulf Coast Medical Foundation.
