Twenty-nine students recently graduated from WCJC's LVN program. WHARTON, TEXAS – Twenty-nine students graduated from the Wharton County Junior College Vocational Nursing (LVN) program in a ceremony held earlier this month on the Wharton campus.

Graduates included:

  • Fort Bend County – Oluwagbenga Attah of Richmond, Amber Harp of Rosenberg, Chelsea McGinnis of Rosenberg, Jasmine Marquez of Sugar Land, Veronique Williams of Rosenberg and Baylee Womble of Needville
  • Wharton County – Jacqueline Green of Wharton, Shaylyn Herald of El Campo, Taylor Hernandez of El Campo, Christian Kirkland of Wharton, Tiffanie Mansios of Wharton, Myshnae Moore of El Campo,  Shacayla Roberts of Wharton and Ellie Valdez of Danevang
  • Matagorda County – Danielle Courtney of Bay City, Reyna Flores of Bay City, Michelle Huddleston of Bay City, Ariel Makara of Bay City and Sandra Mujica of Palacios

The LVN program is a certificate program that utilizes classroom and clinical instruction to prepare graduates for employment as a member of a nursing team. The program is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) and upon successful completion graduates are qualified to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Those passing this examination and the Texas jurisprudence exam will qualify for licensure as a vocational nurse (LVN).
