MEMORIAL TREE DEDICATION - WCJC honors Ermis and Pinson for years of service

Wharton County Junior College President Betty McCrohan addresses a crowd that gathered at the Wharton campus on Aug. 31 for a memorial tree dedication in honor of long-time college employees Fred Ermis Jr. and Lyndon Dale Pinson. Plaques were installed at the base of two oak trees outside the F.J.L. Blasingame Science Building in memory of the two educators, who both died in 2018. Pinson taught biology and geology for 52 years at WCJC while Ermis taught mathematics for 52 years at the college. The memorial tree dedication was held on the Wharton campus and included brief remarks from McCrohan, athletic director Gene Bahnsen and instructor of biology Kevin Dees, who served as master of ceremonies. Family and friends also shared remembrances of the two educators.
