Oral History Collection

J. M. Hodges Library houses the DVD collection of Wharton County Historical Commission Oral History Programs.

The collection describes the settings in which oral information about the past is communicated, including informal conversations as well as formal interviews. The scope of the collection includes the role of the person being interviewed within the community, personal and family experiences, occupations, and events and persons in the community's past.

WCJC libraries have made these oral history materials available to local researchers and the community. Copies of these programs can be reproduced from the master tape in DVD format for general public use. Please email the library with your request at wcjclibrary@wcjc.edu, call the library at 979-532-6509 or complete this online request form.
