Mr. Johnson received his B.A. from Baylor University and his M.S.S.W. from the University of Texas. He has taught at Wharton County Junior College on a part time basis since 1993. He currently teaches SOCI 1301: Introduction to Sociology, SOCI 1306: Social Problems, SOCI 2301: Marriage and Family Relationships, and SOCI 2319: Ethnicity and Identity. Mr. Johnson also teaches SOCI 1301: Introduction to Sociology by ITV to area high schools for WCJC dual-credit students.

Dr. Loessin received his B.S. and M.A. from Sam Houston State University, ABD from Texas A&M University, and Ph.D. from Universidad Empresarial de Costa Rica. He came to WCJC in 1989 from The University of Louisiana at Monroe where he was a Lecturer of Sociology from 1986-1989. He teaches SOCI 1301: Introduction to Sociology, SOCI 1306: Social Problems, SOCI 2319: Ethnicity and Identity; SOCI 2326/PSYC 2319: Social Psychology, and ANTH 2346: General Anthropology.  He has also taught  ENGL 1301: Composition I, ENGL 1302: Composition II, ENGL 2322: British Literature I, ENGL 2323: British Literature II, ENGL 2333: World Literature II, and HUMA 1301: Introduction to Humanities.   

Part-Time Instructors  

James Baylor

Mr. Baylor earned his M.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Our Lady of the Lake University.  He also received his B.S. in Law Enforcement and Police Science from Sam Houston State University.  He currently teaches online Sociology courses.  

David Jung

Dr. Jung earned his B. A. and M.A. in Sociology from Baylor University. He also earned an M.B.A. in Human Resources Management and his PhD in Business Administration from University of Phoenix. He began teaching at Wharton County Junior College in 2017.
