Dr. Willis received her B.A. in Chemistry from University of Maryland Baltimore County and her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Louisiana State University.  She has 10 years of college level teaching experience.  She has worked for both federal and D.C. government as a patent examiner and lab supervisor, respectively.  Dr. Willis joined WCJC in 2016. She teaches Introductory and General Chemistry.

Mr. Bankston received his B.S. degree from the University of Houston.  He received his M.S. degree from the University of Washington.  Mr. Bankston joined WCJC in 2002 and teaches Introductory, General and Organic Chemistry.

Dr. Derrickson joined WCJC in Fall 2016.  He completed his B.S. and Ph.D. studies at the University of Houston and then spent 8 years in industry including working in the oil and gas and aerospace industries.  He teaches Introductory and General Chemistry along with the associated lab courses.

Dr. Doherty holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Monterrey Tech, in Mexico, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of San Luis Potosi, in Mexico. She has worked in several companies in both Mexico and the U.S. as Senior Chemist, Lab Manager, and Process Engineer in the polymers, cement and concrete, environmental, and oil and gas fields. She has 17 years of college-level teaching and content development experience. She teaches General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry.

Nicole Lippolis

Ms. Lippolis received her B.S. degree in Chemistry with minors in Biology and
Mathematics from Dowling College (Oakdale, NY) and received and Masters’
degree in Biochemistry from CUNY Queens College (Flushing, NY). She worked
in industry for 5 years and has been teaching at the collegiate level
since 2009. She joined WCJC in 2017. She teaches Introductory and General Chemistry.

Mrs. Nwosu received her B.S. degree in Industrial Chemistry from FUTO Nigeria, her M.S. degree in Chemistry from Prairie View A&M University, and a Graduate Certificate in Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center. She joined the WCJC chemistry faculty in 2013.  She currently teaches Introductory and General Chemistry.

Dr. Zhao joined the full-time WCJC chemistry faculty in January 2014.  He completed his Ph.D. in physical chemistry at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2000.  He teaches Introductory, General and Organic Chemistry.



Latasha Herndon

Dr. Latasha Herndon has a B.S. in Chemistry from Southern University A & M and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Davis. She has taught at both the high school and college levels, as well as owned a tutorial center that focused on standardized testing. She joined WCJC in January 2019 and taught Introductory Chemistry.

Gholam Pahlavan

Dr. Pahlavan holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry, a M.S. in Analytical Chemistry, and second M.S. in Inorganic Chemistry from University of Houston and Texas Southern University. He joined WCJC as a part time faculty in January 2019. Dr. Pahlavan  retired from Houston Community College after 25 years as a full time chemistry faculty and the Head of Physical Sciences Department. He has been teaching General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry for over 25 years. He joined WCJC in January 2019 and teaches General Chemistry.



David Camejo

Dr. Camejo received his BS in Chemistry from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2005 and his PhD from Baylor University in 2015.  He started working for WCJC in 2016 and taught Introductory and General Chemistry.
