License to Carry (LTC)

Program Description: The Texas License to Carry course (formally Concealed Handgun License) will satisfy state requirements for obtaining a license to carry hand guns in the State of Texas.  Students must pass a written exam and a handgun proficiency test. Students must shoot a qualifying score at the gun range in order to successfully complete the course. Handguns and ammunition will be provided. Please bring eye and ear protection (earmuff style). Upon successful completion of both portions of the class, students will receive the required endorsement needed when submitting an application for the LTC to the State of Texas. This course offers the endorsement only and it is the responsibility of the student to continue the process to obtain their license.  Generally a person must be 21 years of age to be eligible for the LTC however there are some exceptions to the age requirement.

Materials Needed: Students will need to bring a valid Driver License/Identification Card, paper, pen or pencil, eye protection, and hearing protection (earmuff style) with them to class.  Handguns, ammunition, and targets will be provided.

Licensing Information: Upon completion of the LTC training course, students can visit the Texas Department of Public Safety (link https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/ltc/) to apply for a license.
