Physical Therapist Assistant

This is a 21 month course of study accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. The program includes supervised classroom and clinical experiences designed to prepare the graduate for eligibility to take the examination to become a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. Upon successful completion of the program, the student is awarded an Associate of Applied Science degree and is eligible to sit for the national licensing exam.
This is the recommended course of study for students who seek to apply to a physical therapist assistant program. It contains the pre-requisite and co-requisite courses for the WCJC Physical Therapist Assistant program as well as the recommended courses for students who plan to pursue a masters' degree in Physical Therapy at an institution of higher education in Texas. Students interested in this degree should meet with an advisor prior to enrolling in classes.
