Wharton County Junior College recently participated in the 2022 Women In Industry Conference held at Moody Gardens Convention Center in Galveston.
GALVESTON, TEXAS – Wharton County Junior College recently participated with other area colleges in the 2022 Women In Industry Conference, held at the Moody Gardens Convention Center in Galveston.
The fifth annual event was sold out, with 1,419 registered attendees, up from the 1,256 in attendance the last time the event was held in 2019 (pre-COVID). There were 879 high school students registered from 29 different school districts and private schools, including Alief, Alvin, Angleton, Aransas County, Bay City, Brazosport, Bridge City, Columbia-Brazoria, Channelview, Friendswood, Galena Park, Galveston, Goose Creek, Gregory-Portland, Houston, Humble, Ingleside Lamar Consolidated, Mathis, O'Connell High School, Odem-Edroy, Refugio, Sealy, Sheldon, Sinton, Spring, Sweeny, Taft, and Van Vleck. In addition, 126 college students from the nine Gulf Coast Colleges were on hand. A total of 247 women attended the event.
