WCJC invites students from Aransas, Bee, Calhoun, Colorado, Dewitt, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Matagorda, Refugio, Victoria, Waller and Wharton counties; as well as those from the Needville Independent School District, to apply for a scholarship provided by funding from the M.G. and Lillie A. Johnson Foundation.  We are seeking qualified applicants to each receive a $2,000 scholarship for the 2019-20 Academic Year at WCJC! ($1,000 for Fall and Spring Semester).  

Applicants should be first time students at WCJC for the 2019 Fall Semester.

Criteria:

• Applicants must have applied for admission to Wharton County Junior College for Fall Semester 2019.
• Applicants must be residents of the following counties: Aransas, Bee, Calhoun, Colorado, Dewitt, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Matagorda, Refugio, Victoria, Waller and Wharton as well as those from the Needville Independent School District.
• Applicants must have a declared major pathway in an Allied Health Field or Pre-Allied Health Field.
• Preference will be given to applicants who have fulfilled ALL WCJC admission requirements (high school transcript, TSI or exemption scores, Bacterial Meningitis documentation, New Student Orientation).
• Complete and submit scholarship application to the Financial Aid Office at the Wharton Campus.

Additional Information:

• Applicant must enroll as a full-time student for Fall Semester 2019, achieve a minimum 2.0 grade point average for the Fall Semester, and remain in good standing with the college in order to have their award continued for Spring Semester.
• Applicant must attend classes at WCJC in the Fall Semester 2019.
• Notification to successful applicants will be done via e-mail.
