Student e-Mail

Student e-Mail is now available through the myWCJC Portal (as of April 14, 2015)

No More PAPER!

WCJC is going green and our Student e-Mail system is used for all official communication with the college.

  • Admitted prior to September 16, 2015

Each student will be issued access to the myWCJC Portal and  have a student email account 24 hours after registration for their first class at WCJC. Please check WCJC Online Services to verify the Student e-Mail address that has been issued by the college. From that point on all information from WCJC that is sent to the student will be sent to the college issued email address.

  • Admitted on or after September 16, 2015

Applicants are issued access to the myWCJC portal and have a WCJC email account within 24 hours of being admitted to WCJC.

Check "Admissions Status" for the status of the application.  Once the applicant has been admitted, logon to Online Services to find your WCJC email address.

Access to the Portal

Once the WCJC email address is issued, admits must login to the myWCJC Portal system to set up the account. See instructions below. Login links for the myWCJC Portal are located on the college home page, this page and in “WCJC Connect.”

It is the student’s responsibility to activate their student email account by logging into the myWCJC Portal, changing their password and answering security questions. It is also the student’s responsibility to check this email account on a regular basis for important and up-to-date information.

see First Time Users instructions

Student e-Mail Prefix (is the myWCJC Portal username)

A Student e-Mail prefix is the first part of the student’s WCJC issued Student e-Mail address (before the @student.wcjc.edu). To find your student e-Mail address, click "How to find your student email address".  When a student logs into the myWCJC Portal, they should use the Student e-Mail prefix only and leave off the @student.wcjc.edu suffix for the myWCJC Portal username.

An e-Mail prefix is assigned based on the following formula:
(first initial)(lastname)(last 3 numbers of User ID)

Example: A student named Jane Smith with a User ID of @04456789 would have the myWCJC Portal username of jsmith789 (assuming there are no duplicates).

Sometimes alternatives must be issued in case of duplicates or last names longer than 16 characters. Please check WCJC Online Services to verify the Student e-Mail address that has been issued by the college. After logging in, click on the Personal Information tab and select View e-Mail Address(es).

Default Password

The default password for all new student e-mail accounts is set up with the following formula:

(wcjc)(exclamation point)(6-digit birthday mmddyy).

So, the default password for Jane Smith, whose birthday is July 25, 1991 would be: wcjc!072591

Password Requirements

All new passwords must be at least 8 characters in length AND must contain at least 3 of the following:
-lowercase alpha
-uppercase alpha
-digit (0-9)
-special character (#, $, &, etc.)

Passwords will expire after 120 days. You will receive a message in your Student e-Mail box when your password is nearing expiration, and you will be prompted to change the password.
