The mission of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) is to aid in the protection of lives and property of Texas citizens through the development and enforcement of recognized professional standards for individuals and the fire service.

Before scheduling:

Examinees must complete their certification application with TCFP before scheduling their exam.  On test day, examinees will need their TCFP Exam Eligibility form which they can access on their FIDO account after TCFP application completion.

 

Scheduling:

TCFP tests are given by special appointment at the WCJC Richmond and Wharton Campus Testing Centers.  Please check the Testing schedule for available dates and times.

Contact Testing Staff at the appropriate center to schedule a testing appointment.  An appointment must be made.  There are no walk-ins.  Appointments can be made via phone or e-mail.

Richmond campus offers Tuesdays-Thursdays.

Please have the following information ready when scheduling an exam:

• • Full name

• • E-mail address where we can send appointment confirmation and test information

• • The specific TCFP test(s) you are wishing to schedule

• • Date and time you are interested in scheduling

 

Test Day:

Please arrive about 15 minutes before your appointment to allow for time to pay your $25 testing fee at the WCJC Business Office and to check in for your exam.

Bring the following:

• • Non-expired government photo ID

• • Receipt from the WCJC Business Office (cashier's window) that you have paid the $25 testing fee

You must bring your receipt to the testing appointment.  Receipts are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be reprinted.  Please keep your receipt for your or your company's records.

All personal items, including cell phones and smart devices, will be stored during your test. Cell phones must be powered OFF in storage.  The Testing Center is a gun-free zone, pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code.
