Primary Advising teaches new students how to select and register for courses, declare a major, and read a degree map. It also highlights resources and general information new students need to be successful in college.
All new students are required to complete Primary Advising before registering for classes.
Dual credit, transfer, or transient students are not required to complete Primary Advising.
Step 1: Watch your Primary Advising Intro Session
This session takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and should only be viewed after you have met all Admissions Requirements. Incoming students can check their Admission Status through Online Services.
Step 2: Meet with an advisor
You can meet with an advisor in person or virtually.
Each syllabus below was designed to help you navigate the advising process. Each has a checklist for students to follow based on how many hours they have completed in college.
