Primary Advising for New Students
Through Primary Advising, new students will learn how to select their courses and register for those courses and how to declare a major and read a degree map, in addition to learning about resources and information all new students must know to be successful in college.
Primary Advising is required of all new students prior to registering for classes. Dual credit, transfer, or transient students are not required to complete Primary Advising.
Step 1: View your Primary Advising Intro Session
This session, which takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, should only be viewed after you have met all Admissions Requirements. Incoming students can check their Admission Status through Online Services.
Step 2: Based on your TSI status, choose an option below:
If your TSI requirements are NOT met, schedule a virtual Zoom Advising Appointment.
- If you are TSI satisfied or are exempt from taking the TSI, register for your courses through Online Services using our Schedule Planner. Students needing additional assistance may also schedule an appointment with an academic advisor.
