Johnson Foundation 2023-2024 Tuition and Fees Scholarships

Wharton County Junior college has partnered with the M.G. and Lillie Johnson Foundation to provide full tuition and fees scholarships for students enrolled in Allied Health programs leading to employment in high-demand careers.

For each term of enrollment during academic year 2023-2024, full tuition and fees scholarships will be awarded to students registered at least half-time in the Licensed Vocational Nursing, Health Information Technology, Emergency Medical Services, and Human Services programs at WCJC.  Students must meet the following criteria for award:

  • Reside in the following areas:  Aransas County, Bee County, Calhoun County, Colorado County, Dewitt County, Goliad County, Gonzales County, Jackson County, Lavaca County, Matagorda County, Refugio County, Victoria County, Waller County, Wharton County, or the Needville Independent School District
  • Be enrolled at least half-time (6 semester credit hours) in an eligible program through the term census date
  • Have a 2023-2024 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file with WCJC

Scholarships will cover in-district or out-of-district student tuition, standard student fees, and the program-specific fees listed below:

  • Technology fees;
  • Program testing fees;
  • Program insurance fees;
  • Practicum fees; and
  • Lab fees.

The scholarships will not cover installment plan, parking, final-registration, returned-check, non-program testing, or change-of-schedule fees.

Awards will be posted to students' accounts 1-2 weeks after registration for the term.  No application necessary!  Please contact WCJC Financial Aid at finaid@wcjc.edu with questions.
