Mr. Henry received his BS degree in Engineering Technology – Electronics Specialty, from Texas A&M University in 1975, and his MS degree in Process Monitoring and Controls from University of Houston – Clear Lake in 1985.

Mr. Henry began his academic teaching career in 2004 as an instructor of Electronics Technology and Electronics Engineering Technology before coming to WCJC in 2008.  He teaches, or has taught, courses in electrical, instrumentation & controls, process instrumentation, quality/SPC fundamentals and nuclear power technology.

His academic career is enhanced with more than 28 years of experience in industry, including steel tubing manufacturing, induction heating of steel, project engineering, electronics, electrical power, industrial process controls, training, project administration, radiation safety officer and project engineering supervision. 

His graduate studies included power engineering, power generation, power conversion, power networks and process controls.  In addition to his graduate power engineering studies, summer of 2009, he completed 120 hours of faculty development/nuclear power plant training at South Texas Project/STP Nuclear Operating Company.  Mr. Henry continues his professional development activities in these technical areas through industry/continuing education activities.

His involvement in electrical power, technician certification, instruction/training, professional organization participation and power generation has also led him to on-going conference publications and presentation activities in the areas of nuclear power technology and technical education.


Roy Caruthers, B.S., M.S.

Mr. Caruthers received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, and his MS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas. His initial academic teaching career was from 1970 – 1971 at the University of Texas as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Mr. Caruthers has been teaching as a part-time instructor in the Nuclear Power and Process Technology Programs at WCJC since 2008. Richard Gammell

In 2002 Mr. Gammell earned his National Academy for Nuclear Training Nuclear Instructor Certification and became the lead instructor for the Apprentice Operator Training Program at STP. After assisting in the development of the local community college nuclear degree programs, Mr. Gammell joined the WCJC Nuclear Power Technology Degree Department as a part time instructor in 2008.


Mike Conway, B.S.

Mr. Conway graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan, Texas.  He attended Texas A&M University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology.  Mr. Conway has been an Instrumentation Technician for 22 years, in both petrochemical and nuclear industry, and has been a Technical Training Instructor at South Texas Nuclear Project for the past five years.
