Dr. Acevedo joined the full-time WCJC chemistry faculty in August 2011 after completing his PhD in applied physics at Rice University in 2010.He has also taught chemistry and physics at Lone Star College and is a graduate of the University of Houston. He has taught chemistry and physics classes at WCJC.

Dr. Kam H. Chu received his Ph.D in Physics (Experimental Condensed Matter Physics and Superconductivity) from University of Houston. Subsequently, he did his postdoctoral fellowship at Texas Center for Superconductivity, a world-class material science research institute. After several productive years in information technolody as technical consultant, Dr. Chu returned to academic. He has taught at University of Houston, Texas Southern University, Lone Star College, San Jacinto College, and Houston Community College. He began teaching for WCJC in 2013. At WCJC, he teaches College Physics I/II and University Physics I/II.
