In 1991, Dr. Nealy graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a B.A. in English. Upon completion of her M.A.  in English at Texas A&M University, she began work on her Ph.D. in education at Texas A&M. In August 1994, she became a full-time instructor in the Department of English at Prairie View A&M University. In the summer of 2000, Dr. Nealy finished the Prentice Hall TASP Writing Guide, which she co-authored with Karen Hackley, a Houston Community College instructor. Dr. Nealy completed her service at Prairie View A&M University in 2001 and began teaching English full-time at Wharton County Junior College in 2002.

Mrs. Appling received her AA degree from WCJC, a BBA from Sam Houston State University, and an MEd in Reading from the University of Houston –Victoria. She has taught at WCJC for more than twenty-five years, and includes in her courses of expertise: ESL; GED preparation; resumè writing; and job skills. She currently teaches READ 0306, READ 0307, and ENGL 0307 on the main campus.

Mr. Robertson received his Bachelor of Science degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. He has been teaching Developmental English and Reading at WCJC for over twenty years, and currently has his office and classes at the new Sugar Land campus. Mr. Robertson teaches ENGL 0307, READ 0306, and READ 0307.

Dana Bramble has been a full-time instructor at Wharton County Junior College since 2001. She received her degree in education from Southwest Texas State University and has 17 years of teaching experience. She enjoys conducting professional development writing workshops and speaking at educational conferences. Her language arts courses integrate technology with the writing process.

Mrs. Rod received her B.S. degree and teacher certification from Texas A&M University.  She taught high school for two years.  She has been a full time instructor for Wharton County Junior College since 1998.Mrs. Rod currently teaches Beginning Algebra and Intermediate Algebra.

Sharon R. Baca

Mrs. Baca received her B.A. from Sam Houston State University. She received both a Master of Arts and a Master of Education from Praire View A&M University. She taught in the both the Lamar Consolidated and Fort Bend ISD school districts before teaching Language Arts and Reading Education courses for the University of Houston-Downtown Urban Education Department. She served as the first Director of the University of Houston System at Sugar Land campus where she was involved in opening the campus at 14000 University Blvd. Today, she teaches both READ 0307 and ENGL 0307 for WCJC where she has taught as an adjunct for 20 years.


Ms. Protima Batres

Ms. Batres is a graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She worked at One Solution,Texas City Armature, Little Red Schoolhouse, and I. Weiner J Sec. Sch. before coming to WCJC in the fall of 1999. She teaches the Developmental Math courses of Beginning Algebra M308 and Intermediate Algebra M312.


Bonnie Collins

Bonnie received an Associates Degree from Wharton County Junior College. She received a B.S. in Education from Southwest Texas State University. She also received a Masters in Education from Prairie View University. Bonnie teaches Developmental Reading and English at WCJC. She began teaching as an adjunct faculty member at Wharton County Junior College in 1990.

Shannon Villarreal received her B.S. in Education and M.Ed. in Reading from Sam Houston State University. Shannon teaches Developmental Reading and English classes at WCJC. She also teaches full-time in Rice CISD. Shannon began teaching at Wharton in 2009.
