ENGL 0306 Preparatory English      3:3:2

Non-transfer credit course for students who qualify on the basis of English placement tests. Designed to help students overcome deficiencies in basic English and to help students write clear sentences and coherent paragraphs. Students are placed in this course according to WCJC developmental placement guidelines.
Prerequisites-None

ENGL 0307 Writing      3:3:2

Preparatory, non-transfer course for students who qualify on the basis of test scores. This course is designed to help the student raise his or her level of competency in use of language and enable him or her to write college-level compositions. This course is geared to help the student improve spelling, punctuation, sentence construction, and paragraphing, and to give the student practice in writing so that he or she will be able to write effective compositions in ENGL 1301. Prerequisites- Students are placed in this course according to WCJC developmental placement guidelines. This course must be passed with a C or better to satisfy TSI requirements.

READ 0306 Reading Survey I      3:3:2

Non-transfer credit course designed to help students improve their reading comprehension and vocabulary skills. Students are placed according to WCJC developmental placement guidelines. This course must be passed with a C or better to advance to READ 0307.
Prerequisites: None

READ 0307 Reading Survey II      3:2:2

Preparatory, non-transfer credit course to improve reading comprehension with emphasis on reading as a thinking process.
Prerequisites: According to WCJC developmental placement guidelines, or completion of READ 0306 with a C or better. This course must be passed with a C or better to satisfy TSI requirements. Concurrent enrollment of PSYC 1300.
