WCJC AEL conducts Adult Basic Education and Adult Secondary classes throughout Fort Bend, Matagorda, and Wharton counties. Our program delivers instruction for GED preparation; improves basic academic skills such as reading, math, and writing; and develops speaking and writing communication skills for ESL students. WCJC Adult Education and Literacy offers courses during the day and evenings to accommodate the busy schedules of our students. All instructional services, including books, are provided free of charge.
Do you need a GED?
WCJC Adult Education and Literacy offers GED instruction within a supportive classroom setting for our students. Our highly-qualified teaching staff prepares students to pass their GED test and provides encouragement for students who wish to continue their education. Career and financial counseling services are made available during class time.
Do you need to improve your English skills?
WCJC Adult Education and Literacy ESL classes are designed for non-English learners and include instruction on proper pronunciation and use of English language structures. Classes will help ESL students to become more effective in conversation by focusing on strategies for initiating conversation, using functional language, and improving listening skills. Highly-qualified faculty will target grammar trouble spots in speaking, writing, and common pronunciation errors.
