GED and ESL Enrollment

 

PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION THOROUGHLY BEFORE ATTENDING AN ENROLLMENT.

If a student is interested in attending an AEL class, ESL or GED, for the 2014-2015 academic year, a mandatory AEL orientation must be completed.

 *Attention – 16 & 17 yr. old students require additional paperwork before being able to enroll in classes. Please have all ORIGINAL paperwork with you on the day of enrollment. COPIES ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

16 yr. old students:

  1. Court Order signed by judge AND stating “Adult Education  and Literacy Program”
  2. A NOTARIZED Parent Consent Form
  3. Must be accompanied by a parent/guardian on the day of orientation.

17 yr. old students:

  1. Court Order (if court ordered) signed by judge AND stating “Adult Education and Literacy Program”
  2. A NOTARIZED Parent Consent Form
  3. Must be accompanied by a parent/guardian on the day of orientation.
  4. A Student Withdrawal Form (from last school attended)
                                          OR
  5. A NOTARIZED Home School Form (takes place of Student Withdrawal Form)

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW ABOUT ORIENTATION

**NOTE: GED STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO ORIENTATION SESSION ONCE IT HAS BEGUN. STUDENTS WILL REMAIN IN CLASSROOM FOR THE ENTIRE 4-5 HOURS.

Please allow time for traffic and misdirection. Also, children are NOT permitted to attend an orientation.

 What to bring to orientation?

  • Knowledge of your Social Security # (A social security card is not required to attend class.)
  •  A valid government issued identification card with photo, DOB, & current address. (If possible, bring a COPY of this card)
  • Sharpened pencil
  • A positive attitude; willingness to work hard.
  • $ 1.00 for TALAE Membership
