Mrs. Mauch received her B.S. from Louisiana State University in 2000, and earned her M.Ed. degree from Texas State University – San Marcos in 2009. She was a Secondary Mathematics teacher (grades 7 – 12) for 10 years before becoming a full-time instructor for Wharton County Junior College in 2012. She has taught College Algebra, Trigonometry, Statistics, Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences, Calculus for Business and Social Sciences, and Precalculus.  Mrs. Mauch received the 2016 WCJC Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Mrs. Avetisyan received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Applied Mathematics from Yerevan State University, Armenia. She has more than twenty years of college level teaching experience and taught at various universities and colleges both in Armenia and United States including Houston Baptist University and Westwood College. Mrs. Avetisyan started teaching at WCJC since fall 2012 and has taught College Algebra, Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences, Calculus for Business and Social Sciences, and Precalculus.

Ms. Buckingham received her B.S. in Math at Baylor University in Waco, TX in 2011 and her M.S. in Mathematics at Louisiana State University in 2013. She spent time doing further work in Applied Mathematics at the University of Maryland in Baltimore before teaching at WCJC in Fall 2015. She has taught College Algebra, Math for Business and Social Sciences (online and face-to-face), Calculus for Business and Social Sciences, Calculus I, and Statistics (online and face-to-face).

Mr. Brink received the B.S. in Math from Allegheny College, and the M.A. in Math from West Virginia University.  He has over 30 years of instructional experience.  At WCJC, he teaches College Algebra, Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences, Calculus for Business and Social Sciences, Statistics, Precalculus, and Calculus I-II-III.

Ms. Celaya received her B.S in Mathematics and M.S. in Mathematics Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She began teaching developmental math courses as an adjunct instructor at Northeast Lakeview College. She later moved to Brazosport College where she taught College Algebra and Intermediate Algebra. Ms. Celaya joined the math department at WCJC in 2015. She teaches College Algebra, Precalculus, Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences, Calculus for Business and Social Sciences, and Calculus 1.

Mr. Ermis earned a B.S. Degree in Mathematics from Sam Houston State University and a M.S. Degree in Mathematics from Marquette University.  He has done additional graduate studies in Mathematics at Oberlin College and the University of Houston.  Mr. Ermis has taught at WCJC since 1966. Mr. Ermis teaches College Algebra, Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences, and Calculus for Business and Social Sciences.

Mr. Kelley has been on the WCJC math faculty for over twenty years and teaches all levels of mathematics. He was educated at the University of Arkansas and received the 2011 Excellence in Teaching Award from NISOD.

Mr. Neaderhouser has a Bachelor's Degree from Cornell University and two Masters Degrees, both from the University of Illinois, one in math and one in statistics. He has taught at University of Illinois, Texas A&M, University of Houston, University of Phoenix and Cy-Fair College. Mr. Neaderhouser began teaching for WCJC in 2004. He has taught College Algebra, Trigonometry, Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences, Calculus for Business and Social Sciences, Statistics, Calculus I, Differential Equations, and Mathematics for Teachers I.

Mrs. Silverstone has a Master's Degree and a Bachelor's Degree from Hunter College (CUNY) in the areas of Mathematics and in Secondary Math Education. She has taught high school and then became a full-time Lecturer at Bergen Community College teaching Developmental Mathematics from 2009 to 2014. She has been a full-time Math Instructor at WCJC since 2014. She teaches College Algebra, Trigonometry, Mathematics for Business & Social Sciences, and Calculus for Business & Social Sciences.

Mr. Barada graduated from LSU in 1986 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and from Louisiana Southern University in 1987 with a Master degree in Mathematics. He has been teaching at the high school level since 2001. He started teaching at WCJC in 2012. He has taught College Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1, and Calculus 2.


Deborah Barnett, BA, MA

Mrs. Barnett received her B.A. degree and teacher certification from Incarnate Word College and earned her M.A. degree from the New School for Social Research.  She continued with post-graduate studies in Mathematics at the University of Houston.  Mrs. Barnett has been a part time instructor for Wharton County Junior College at Tidehaven High School since 2006. She currently teaches College Algebra and Trigonometry.

Ms. Dupas has a Bachelor's Degree from Southern University A&M and a Master’s Degree from Texas Southern University A&M in mathematics.  She has taught at Houston Community College, Katy ISD, and Alief ISD.  She has taught at Wharton County Junior College since 2014. Austin Hsiung

Mr. Hsiung received a B.A. degree from Chung-Yuan Christian University major in Electronic Engineering, a M.S. degree from Texas A&I University in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. degree from Texas A&M University at Kingsville in Mathematics. He taught math classes at Texas A&M University at Kingsville while in graduate school. Mr. Hsiung has worked for Wharton County Junior College since 2012. At WCJC he has taught College Algebra and Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences, and Calculus for Business and Social Sciences.


Sherry Liu

Ms. Liu is finishing a M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Houston in 2016.  She received an M.S. in Business Management from the London Business School Sloan Fellowship, a M.S. in Telecommunication and Networking from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a B.S. in Computer Science, from Missouri University of Science and Technology. She began teaching as an adjunct at WCJC in the fall of 2010 and became a full time faculty member in 2015. Ms. Liu has taught Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Calculus for Business & Social Sciences, Statistics, and various Non-Course Competency-Based courses.


Ha S. Nguyen, PhD.

Dr. Nguyen received two MS degrees, in Mathematics and in Statistics, and a Doctorate degree in Mathematics, from the University of Houston, Houston, Texas. He is an adjunct instructor at Houston Community College Systems (HCCS) and University of Houston-Downtown. He began teaching at WCJC in 2014. He teaches College Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, and Calculus I & II.


Kenneth Osore

Mr. Osore received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Houston in Victoria in Spring 1995. In Fall 2001, he received his Masters of Arts degree from University of Houston Victoria. Mr. Osore currently teachers for Edna ISD. Mr. Osore has been teaching at Wharton County Junior College since 1997. He has taught College Algebra, Trigonometry, Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences, Calculus for Business and Social Sciences, Statistics, and Calculus.

Mr. Sapolucia received his BSEE degree from University of Colorado, Denver. He received his M.SC degree from Prairie View A&M University. Mr. Sapolucia taught as a full-time instructor of Mathematics at Prairie View A&M University. Mr. Sapolucia has been teaching Precalculus, Calculus I & II, and Statistics courses at Wharton County Junior College since 1989. He is also an adjunct instructor of Mathematics at University of Houston - Downtown.

Mrs. Tomy has a Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Ms. Tomy has taught Mathematics on the secondary level and on the college level. She has taught Precalculus, Mathematics for Teachers I, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, and Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences. She began teaching at Wharton County Junior College in 2013.
