WCJC Fitness Center

How do I join the Fitness Center?

The first step in joining the Fitness Center is to go to the cashier's window in the college's Administration Building to pay the membership fee. During the school semester, the cashier's window is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00.

Next, take your receipt to the Fitness Center and a staff member will assist you with completing the appropriate forms.  You are also welcome to pay with a check or cash at the Fitness Center front desk. All student members and athletes must present their WCJC ID at the front desk.

 

What does it cost to join the Fitness Center?

Membership in the Fitness Center is available to individuals 18 years of age and older.

Students enrolled in dual credit courses at WCJC are an exception and also have the option of joining the Fitness Center.

Students have free use of  the sand volleyball court.

Guests can try the weight room for $5 a day and must fill out a waiver.

WCJC students enrolled in at least 9 credit hours will only pay $60 per semester (Fall, Spring, or Summer).  WCJC Students enrolled in PHED 1164 will have free use of the fitness center for that semester.

Full-time employees may use the Fitness Center free of charge. The "family rate" for full-time employees is $110 per family per semester. A single spouse of a full-time employee will pay only $60 per semester.

Membership is open to the public for a fee of $110 per person per semester, or $210 per family per semester (Up to 3 people in one household). The monthly individual membership fee is $35 a month.


Community members may also purchase an annual membership for a fee of $310.

What is the procedure for using the Fitness Center?


Upon entering the Fitness Center, members will sign in at the front desk.

Progress charts are available for new members as well as ongoing members to record personal information such as heart rate, workouts, weight and other equipment use to aid in their goal setting.

Members are expected to only use the towels provided by the Fitness Center.

All other rules are posted around the weight room.

 

What type of equipment is offered at the Fitness Center?


The Fitness Center offers cardiovascular and resistance training equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, weight training machines, cable systems, and free weights.

Paid community members, students, employee may use the weight room and locker room facilities. Members interested in using the locker rooms are asked to bring a lock of their own and register the locker number with a staff member. Members are reminded to bring their own toiletries and shower towels for use of shower facilities.

Students taking weight lifting classes may use the weight room for free during the semester that they are enrolled in the class.
